Solar Eclipse in Cancer – Astrology forecast

June 16, 2020

The Goddess Kali in front of a ring of fire, by astroccult

On June 20th the Sun moves into Cancer and hours later the Moon conjuncts the Sun. In other words, the New Moon takes place Mid-Summer. This is not just a New Moon, it’s an eclipse. An annular Solar eclipse. With an annular Solar eclipse the shadow of the Moon almost completely covers the Sun, only leaving an outer ring of fire. The word annular comes from the Latin word annulus meaning ring. Annular eclipses are strong!

Lunar Eclipse – Full Moon in Sagittarius – Astrology forcecast & Ritual

June 1, 2020

Art by Priya Jot Kaur

The Lunar Eclipse in Sagittarius wants us to shed skin. To release that what is toxic, no longer truthful and no longer of service to us. I want to ask you to reflect on the following questions in the upcoming week (and well, actually during the rest of your life until toxic systems have been broken down). The cosmos is urging humanity to reflect on the topics below. If you think you have more important things to do than to take and make the time to work through these questions, then you are a fool.

Where am I right now and how did I get here? In what body was I born? How has my body enabled or prevented me to do or ‘accomplish’ things in life? What influence did health, sex, color, (dis)ability, marks, or the like have? Have I ever felt unsafe somewhere because of my body? If not, can I imagine feeling unsafe because of a different gender, sex, color, etc.? What gender do I identify with? Who am I attracted to? And how has this influenced my sense of safety and belonging throughout life? What do these answers say about the systems we are living in? We need to reflect on patriarchy. We need to reflect on white supremacy. We also need to understand how we keep these systems in place, before we can understand how to change them. How do these systems suppress you? How do these systems enable you? Be f****** honest. Being white has enabled me. I have been put down for being a woman. We all have our own stories. Systems exist because we humans have built them and keep them in place. I am too responsible, even if I am disgusted by them.

What else has enabled you in life? Where were you born? Somewhere in Europe maybe? The Netherlands, like me? Did you have access to school too? Healthcare? Was there peace or war? Where do the clothes you wear come from? Secondhand or new? Do you know who made them? Were they made by your mom, with love? Were they made by a starving single mom in Taiwan? Where does your food come from? The food that enables you to keep being alive. The food that enables you to enjoy life, to workout, to have sex. Do you sustain yourself by eating vegetables grown in soil nurtured by organic compost? Do you sustain yourself with tortured animals who got to live for six weeks in small dark farms? What kind of practices do you support with the food and clothing that you buy? What kind of consumer are you? What systems do you sustain? Fair labor and human rights? Or exploitation? Do you just take from Mother Earth without regard for suffering or do you find creative ways to minimize the impact you have on the climate? And do you see how capitalism is related to patriarchy and white supremacy? Because: what do the people who make the clothing sold by Primark look like?

This Full Moon urges you to reflect on your life philosophies, the systems you are part of and your contribution to these systems. This Full Moon urges you to dare to let go of the parts of those systems that make you feel safe. To acknowledge where you are benefitting. To take responsibility.

New Moon in Gemini – Astrology forecast & Affirmation Horoscopes

May 19, 2020

Art by Serpentfire

Last week Venus stationed retrograde. Saturn stationed retrograde. Jupiter stationed retrograde. The asteroid Pallas also stationed retrograde. Mars moved into Pisces. Mercury is in Gemini. In other words: a lot of noteworthy transits last week! I wrote about them in the last ‘Moon article and forecast’ (read here). The most noticeable thing about these transits is that with Mars and Mercury moving from fixed signs into mutable signs, we find there is movement now where certain things were stuck. Communication has gotten a boost. There is also more space for actions being driven by instinct and passion. On the other hand: the areas in life that Saturn, Jupiter and Venus rule are slowed down now and ask for introspection. Reflection on relationships, love and connections (Venus), life philosophy and healing practices (Jupiter) and duties, responsibilities and karma (Saturn).

May 4, 2020

Okaaaay there is lots to talk about. Because there is a shit load of planets that’s about to station retrograde. As usual I’ll go through the major transits between now and the next Moon article (which is on the New Moon in Gemini). So there is a lot to write about. But first, let’s talk about the Full Moon in Scorpio. And, as a gift, I will share a ritual for the Full Moon in Scorpio.

New Moon in Taurus – Astrology & Horoscope affirmations

April 19, 2020

Frida Kahlo was born while the Moon was in Taurus.

Conjunct Uranus, on Thursday the 23rd 04.25 am CEST there is the New Moon in Taurus (for some it will be on Wednesday the 22nd, depending on where you are on Earth). This for sure is an interesting New Moon. Uranus is the big revolutionary. The planet of upheavels and change. Taurus is a fixed earth sign. She is known for her stability. She is known to be grounded. She knows what she wants and what she likes. When the bull has made up her mind, she sticks with it.

New Moon in Aries 24-03

March 22, 2020

Apart from the heavy astrology we have had so far in 2020 (Lunar eclipse on the Cancer – Capricorn axis, Saturn x Pluto conjunction in Capricorn, Mercury retrograde, Mars in Capricorn) and the heavy astrology that is about to come (Saturn x Mars conjunction very soon and the fact that in the month of May Saturn, Jupiter and Venus station retrograde, and more heavy stuff coming later in 2020), luckily there is also good stuff! In my previous article I wrote all about the astrology on the current pandemic. The crisis hits u all. We are forced into something. There is a restructuring going on and we are just at the start of it. However, that doesn’t mean it’s all bad. It’s not all bad and  war and sorrow up in the heavens above. It’s not all bad and war and sorrow on earth below. So let’s focus on that. Let’s make use of what’s here to serve us! I want to shine light on the positive in this piece of writing.
