Full Moon in Gemini – Penumbral Lunar eclipse

November 28, 2020

‘Lovers’ by Remedios Varo, inspired by Tarot. The Lovers card in Tarot is related to the sign Gemini.

This Full Moon is an eclipse. The Penumbral Lunar Eclipse arrives on November 30th 4.30 am ET / 10.30 am CET at 8 degrees Gemini.

Whenever a Full Moon or a New Moon takes place in close enough proximity to the nodes of the Moon, an eclipse takes place. The North Node is at 19 degrees Gemini and the South Node is at 19 degrees Sagittarius. The nodes are squared by Neptune at 18 degrees Pisces. Neptune stations direct a little more than a day before the Full Moon arrives. Neptune tends to place a surreal fog over the things he touches, and his touch is extra intense at the moment since he just stationed direct. Neptune tends to decrease our ability for clear thinking and increases our thirst for ecstasy. For example; when Neptune touches Venus one may actually get blinded by love. Neptune grows our lust and decreases our IQ points. That’s not the say that Neptune can’t bring good stuff. Sometimes we need to shut down our mind in order to enter astral planes.

Neptune transits are good for spiritual practices like meditation. At this moment Neptune touches the nodes. The North Node, next to which the Full Moon will reside, is all about increase. Just like Neptune likes to increase. Both the North Node and Neptune tend to grow our appetite.

In this case it will be an appetite for the good and the bad that Gemini has to offer to us. Gemini is a mutable air sign. As an air sign Gemini is social and intellectual. Add to that the mutable quality and Gemini equals fast thinkers and chatty twins. With this Full Moon we can expect an increased lust or need for information, knowledge and communication. Fact checking, google searches and chat box overloads. Our minds will be busy, overthinking, not being able to sleep at night. Some of us might feel like ‘going a bit crazy’. Neptune’s involvement isn’t helpful, we might start to think we are losing touch with reality. One thing is for sure, many us will process a lot of thoughts in the days surrounding the Full Moon. Good insights and valuable knowledge may come in, if we manage to keep ourselves grounded. We might be able to let go of limiting beliefs and finally embrace empowering ones. Be careful not to get lost in the clouds, it will be easy and tempting. Try to keep your feet on earth.

This Full Moon comes with a lot of air energy, a lot. For those of you that are familiar with Ayurveda, this Eclipse comes with lots of Vata. The remedy for too much Vata, or to much air energy, is to ground yourself. Ayurveda offers grounding remedies like oil massages. Other grounding practices are meditation, walks in nature and eating warm and nourishing meals (go for pumpkin soup instead of the salad). You might feel extra drawn to social media these days. But it would actually be good to take a digital detox and connect with Mother Earth.

Eclipses can bring forth intense events or experiences, for those who have personal planets or points being touched by the Eclipse. If you have personal planets, the nodes or the ascendant or midheaven between 6-10 degrees of Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius or Pisces, this Full Moon may bring some significant insights, events or experiences. Eclipses coincide with challenges, but they are supposed to push us forward into growth and realign us with our destinies.

Astrology forecast

December 1st Mercury enters Sagittarius

Mercury moves from fixed water into mutable fire. Our minds become less focused and emotionally obsessed and instead become passionately philosophical. The messenger of the gods has the optimistic drive to engage in communication with others in order to spread truth, wisdom and hope. Distorted he becomes the Jehova’s witness knocking on people’s doors or the priest that preaches a little too loud. Not distorted we may put the Mercury in Sag vibes to good use by engaging in conversations that aim to create harmony between different parties, seeking the middle ground and bringing new insights to all parties. Don’t keep all your wisdom to yourself, knowledge on life is meant to be shared. Don’t become a know it all either. Share your gifts, it’s up to the other person to accept them or not.

December 7th / December 8th Pallas enters Aquarius

The asteroid Pallas Athena ingresses into Aquarius. Soon her father Jupiter will follow. A new chapter is ahead of us, for each of us individually and for the human collective. The chapter starts with the Saturn x Jupiter conjunction in Aquarius that will take place in about two weeks. Pallas Athena is moving ahead, clearing the way for the two giant gas planets. Pallas Athena brings wisdom, healing and courage in the parts of our charts that contain Aquarius.

December 14th the New Moon (a Total Solar Eclipse) arrives at 11.16 am ET / 5.16 pm CET at 23 degrees Sagittarius

I’ll be back with your soon on more information on the Total Solar Eclipse.

Love, Maud
